Biohacking is used as a broad term. It ranges from describing people who build electronics into their bodies, people who use spiritual and fitness techniques, people who take specially designed vitamins and supplements, and even people who drink sparkling water with chewing gum instead of sugared drinks. While I agree that all that is biohacking, it is not what I am here to write about.
I am a male, age 40, relatively healthy, trying to do some regular workouts, trying to find time for walks in nature, but I also have a job, responsibilities and I can not ( nor do I want to ) live like some monk on a top of a mountain. The main focus of my biohacking is Healthspan, and I hope to gain Lifespan as well.
Healthspan
Healthspan is the amount of time you live your life healthy and functional. With all of your internal organs working relatively happily, with no sickness, big C, being able to do at least a few lift-ups, and enjoy little things like sex and recreational sport. Simply put the amount of time in your life you are able to enjoy life.
Lifespan
Lifespan is how long you live. I am really trying to improve this one too. But living to, let’s say 120 years of age and spending 50 of your last years living like a vegetable is not what I am after. Living at all costs is not what I am after. One of the first biohacker interviews I saw was some guy in his late twenties. He was pretty sure that he doesn’t have to die. EVER. Now great for him, I do not share his level of optimism. Also, he took like a hundred tablets a day, and had a rigorous regime of living, again, not my cup of tea. I wish him success in his plans and hopes.

What I am Doing
I have been taking some supplements and vitamins for a year and a half now, and it seems to me that they really do have some effect on me and my overall health and functioning. I will give my insights and thoughts on them and try to show root for my opinions. As always, I am open to suggestions and comments. More on the subject soon to come.
Take care and enjoy your life
